What can you use the app for?

Doocuments is an application for sharing VIP documents and files via Internet. It is not a word processing tool, but an extension of existing tools. It adds safety features and controls to each document as needed by the user. These features can be utilized by both individuals and companies to ensure privacy and safety of sensitive documents.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Doocuments was founded in March 2010 by Carlos Polo, Carlos Moro, and Jagoba González. Headquarters are in Spain, however little information is available regarding the conception of the application or traffic to the site.

What are the differences to other apps?

The ability to choose which safety mechanisms to apply to each document in order to prevent data leaks via email or lost devices. Using the suite of tools in Doocuments eliminates the leaks, audits the content use, tracks usage and delivery, and keeps information secure.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

Once registered, the user is taken to their dashboard. From the dashboard, the user can manage all of the document features. The first document is sent without any added features, but this may be changed via the dashboard.

Access data is noted via graph, account storage space is noted, general document data is shown - including how many readings are still available, the size, the upload date, last access, scheduled publication, description and permissions. This is also where the user may choose to show hidden pages and/or indicate that the page may not be printed. Watermark with email, timestamp, and/or IP information is also set on this page.

New documents may be sent via the Publish tab which provides a text editor for adding a message along with the uploaded document.

This an intuitive interface that allows users to determine the level of privacy they wish to assign to any given uploaded document. It is easy to use and offers an extra level of security to uploaded content.

How does the registration process work?

Fee based accounts must provide an email address to create an account. Credit card information is required during signup.

Rather than a traditional registration, users signing up for a free account need only sent their first document using the home page wizard. Users set a recipient, upload a file, and choose a password. Confirmation is sent to the email provided in the "from" box for the email.

The confirmation email contains an activation code to activate the user's account. The link leads to a page for the user to provide first and last name, country, and password.

What does it cost to use the application?

The Personal Plan is free with a maximum document size of 3MB, maximum 5 recipients per document, maximum of 20 reads per document, total storage of 5GB, 1 user, document usage stats reports and dashboards, expiration date policies, public document URLs, folder structure, realtime email notifications, hidden pages, non-printable pages, password access control, static IP access control, on demand IP access control, document watermarking, and different permissions per recipient.

The Professional Plan is offered for 5 € per month and offers a maximum document size of 5MB, maximum 20 recipients per document, maximum of 50 reads per document per month, total storage of 50GB per user, 5 users, all of the above features and notification customization.

The Enterprise Plan is offered at 12 € per month and offers a maximum document size of 25MB, maximum 50 recipients per document, maximum of 200 reads per document per month, total storage of 100GB per user, 100 users, plus all of the above features.

The Unlimited Plan requires the user to call for a quote and includes a maximum document size of 100MB, maximum 1000 recipients per document, maximum of 2500 reads per document per month, unlimited storage per user, unlimited users, API access, plus all of the above features.

Who would you recommend the application to?

There are plans for anyone from an individual to a large company. Simply adding any document written in a traditional office tool (such as Microsoft Word) to the Doocuments platform and using it as one would an email client, will allow anyone with concerns regarding the security of sent documents will find this a very useful tool.
